So, you want to attend the Hampton Yacht Club Sailing HIP Chick event? Great! This event is generously hosted by the Lady Sailors of the Hampton Yacht Club with the help of the CNU Sailing team and Chris Schott, a club volunteer. Show them the LOVE!!!!
Here's the skinny:
Before this event begins, we'd LOVE to see you pop by the Poker Run just down the road from 9am to 10am to wave goodbye to the run motorcycles and cars and show your support. This takes place at Quaker Steak and Lube at 12832 Jefferson Ave, Newport News, VA.
This 'fun' regatta style sailing event begins at 12pm at the club at 4707 Victoria Blvd, Hampton, VA. If sailing, you will be apired up with one other Boober! and 2 crew members experienced in sailing and ready to "show you the ropes" - Literally! There is no cost to attend and there will be a casual cocktail party planned after sailing with a potluck of sorts which you will be asked to contribute a side dish or appetizer at a later date. You are welcome to bring an adult beverage and the after-party will be from 4pm to 6pm at the gazebo on site.
All participants MUST be a Boober! and in our database. Must wear weather appropriate clothing that can get wet and non-skid shoes that do not have black rubber soles (it marks up the boat deck š
There is no deposit required for this event, but all RSVPs are expected to cancel within 48 hours of the start to allow for another lucky Boober! to attend in your place if you are riding on a sailboat. A doctor's permission MUST be submitted if riding as well as an RSVP form. ContactĀ vicki.vawter@hereforthegirls.org to complete both!
An RSVPĀ form must be completed by Sept 21st and submission does NOT guarantee a spot will be available for all requests. Sailboat riders are limited to the first 24 Boobers! on a first come first served basis. As a sailboat rider, you may bring one Boostier! or family member 18 or over with you to ride on the spectator boat. If you, the Boober! are attending as a spectator boat rider and will NOT be on a sailboat, one Boostier! may also attend to include children 5-18 years of age.
We will be in touch if you are unable to ride the sailboat. All participants should eat lunch before arrival, as food will not be served until around 5pm. This event will go on rain or shine, but in the event of thunder or lightning, food and drink festivities will commence at the gazebo only.
